Someone on here just recently posted that he did the upgrade and delt a big difference. I will say, as an owner of a phase 2, that my car has the best braking power of any car I've driven, including 2 Escorts, a PT Cruiser, and a Grand Voyager.

And I think my brake pads are still factory.

Im the one who just did the brake upgrade...Id say go for it. Somebody else noted to me, the only problem is the braking percentages are unbalanced due to a bigger rotor now. I think its usually 70% front and 30% back (correct me if I am wrong). I think this unbalance is the reason I felt the difference so well, but it is definatley worth your time. It took me 3 hours doing it by myself with no air tools, and I painted my calipers. reminds me...I have to get pics up.

by the way....I actually got my spindles and hubs from a 92' cavalier (have to be from a 92-94 cavalier, no matter the engine size) and I got the pads, rotors, and calipers from a 98' cavalier.

why did you get the pads rotors and calipers from a 98, is there a difference cause if i could get a little bigger rotor up front that would help, i have a 94 btw

I only got the 98' up parts because I could get them free. Raven told me (and he was right) that the wearing parts from 92-99' are the same....and like Stu said, with the 1994 you already have the 10" rotors. You already have what I upgraded to.

ok, by the sounds of it i thought that u had gotten even bigger rotors since they were from 98, thanks for clarifying that, but what about calipers, are they better than 94 ones or the same

no i think youre still confused

all jbodies 91+ have the same rotors i am pretty sure the pads and calipers are the same too. with your 94, there is nothing for you to upgrade.
oh ok then, i just didnt know if 3rd gens had any braking hardware changes, but i understand now, thanks

Actually it's '92+, '91 still uses the 9.5" brake.
