Anyone know if there is a company that makes a Remote Starter for Standarts. I would spend about $170 cnd. if it would also include some kind of alarm.

Thanks-

Well, remote start for a manual is a bit tricky. There aren't too many out there that enable you to start the vehicle without depressing the clutch, and that won't send your car through the garage wall if you forgot to take it outa gear.

Here are a couple that I found:

A tad more expensive than your liking...

No price on that one

I just paind $400 installed for a prestige alarm / starter (but it was for automatic) how ever I think he said they can put a clutch bypass or something if it were a standard, cause my brother was thinking about getting one as well, in a 5spd beretta (same setup basically) dunno if you can get it for $170 CDN though.

btw my price was canadian.

Just found one at canadiantire.ca , they got a sale, costs about $100 for the Standart tranny, but it has no alarm, but I'll just get another $80 bulldog alarm or something. Crime rate isnt high in my area anyways.

good ol' trust worthy canadian tire.. there good, except their mechanics, i think they sabatage your car when you get repairs done.. I've been in for a belt change, and they said my rad was leaking. turned out to be a clamp, but it wasn't leaking before i went in. ... well this was my step-dads car. but still i think they sabataged it and tried to get him to buy a rad. anyays just check your car before it goes in. cause when installing starters they have to be under the hood, and in the interior .. if they wanted they would do almost anything without you looking.

-edit-
oh you said canadiantire.ca, are you buying it then installing yourself? if so you can probably ignore all that stuff =)

I will install it myself once I get it, I always do everyting myself, else there would be no point in taking Auto-tech in school.
Its true, "some" mechanics do sabotage your car, our Teacher always tells us ways how a mechanic "could" rip you off, which of course doesnt mean that he did it when he was a mechanic (yeah right)
