i looked around the site, and couldnt find anything. i am removing my heads from my 91 3.1 z24 to get ported and polished. just looking to see if anyone can point me in the right direction, or has any helpful tips, thanx.

What exactly are you looking for? A how-to on removing the heads? Connections for where to go for a port/polish?

lol, i got a connection, my uncle owns a few machineshops out by me, but yea, im lookin for a how-to, and any tips that could make it easier being that i hear it is very hard.

took me about 20 minutes to get the heads off my old 2.8..

just drain the coolant and start unbolting stuff.. you'll get them off eventually!

Get a Haynes manual for your car, it well tell you how :wink: Other then that get some tools and put them to use :-? Its not that hard if you follow the manual. I could write a how to or scan one from one of my books but I have a steak to eat that just got off the barbuque..........mmm! Good luck!

like Dave said, just start unbolting shit. Remove the plenum, lower intake manifold, pushrods, rocker arms and then unbolt the heads. You can get the job done with 10, 13 and 15mm sockets and a ratchet if you have to, but the heads are torqued down pretty good. If you're doing this with the engine still in the car, be sure to take off the coolant line running from the water pump to make it easier for the removal of the front head. And then before you know it:

haha, makin it sound easier then ive heard.
I have the complete service manual thats actually more in depth than the hanyes, but i was just seeing if anyone had some words of advice. if you could scan the pages, thatd be great. thanks for all your help guys

If you ever get the chance to get a factory service manual you should get one. Its about 100 times better than the haynes or chiltons. Its much, much more in depth than any store bought manual.

yea, thats the manual i have, ill be doin it hopefully next weekend, when i get the chance to come home from college and work on it for a weekend.
