What can be done about a shifter being very stiff and hard to find gears?

um......go to the weight room....

...j.king....if you take the cover off and look under there you will see a black shaft connected to the shofter, look at it and make sure that there are not any harsh rub marks on it and such, if there is....there is something you can rub on it I belive....

Change your tranny fluid, see if that helps.

Your shifter cables might need some greasing. My 5 speed needed that done to it after I bought it. It was stiff as hell to move into 2nd and 3rd gear. Now it's fine.
