Hey guys,
I just came from http://www.raceshop2000.com and they said they have 10 superchargers ready...but they sold them already. They're claiming 210 hp at the wheels. Hope they get more made soon.

I just came from mantapart.com and, I believe, it said they carry a super/turbocharger for the 3.1s. But I also read somewhere that GM didn't make the 3.1 durable enough to handle a supercharger. They suggested switching to the 3.4.
What do you think Moon?

No I'm not...I just said that.
One good thing about Z24's is that they are quicker off the line than a lot of cars including the Z34, so if you add the supercharger you can kick a lot of other Z's asses.

not only z's but other car's asses too!

anyway, if i get a supercharger kit, what would i have to replace on my original 2.8l v6 MPFI engine? Head gaskets? And also how much is a supercharger kit? They didn't say on http://www.raceshop2000.com, it just said sold out! Will they make more? Thanks

I beleive that they say that nothing else will have to be replaced. Both the turbo and supercharger run $3500 USD installed. When I asked them about a kit, they said that no, they don't have anymore put together, but they would do all the work for you at their shop.

$3,500!?!?! WOW that's a lot. Do you think it is worth supercharging a z24? Anyway, i was really wondering will a supercharger do any harm to my engine if i get one installed? If so, what do i have to change to prevent any harm. Also, where is their shop!?!

Yeah, its quite a bit or money. I would definately be getting it done if I had the money. As long as your engine is in decent shape now, it should hold up well to the boost, as long as you don't plan on going over 8-9psi. That will get you in the 200hp range. If you want to go higher than that, you will have to build up the internals - stronger pistons, lower compression ratio etc.

DOH! I live in GEORGIA, USA. ARGGGGG. Well, then can i get the supercharger and have a shop near my place install it? Will it definetly cost more than $3,500? I currently have 83k miles on my engine and it runs perfectly. i would like to put the supercharger in if i can. Also, one more question, even though it is not with the topic... what are the best sport brakes for the j-body?

Thanks
