I feel your pain man, the rust is a cancer that always gets worse. Same thing happened to my 91Z. The engine ran strong but the car was rusting out all over the place. It was so bad even the fuel lines above the fuel cell rusted through and it started pissing gas all over the road. Needless to say that was the day I decided it wasn't worth fixing and the car went up for sale. She was good to me for almost six years and I hated to get rid of her. Sucks to hear that both your cars are crappers though. Hope you can find something that is a bit more reliable.
man that sucks,i had a 91 Z and it was rusted to fuck so in the and every thing was getting bad underneath, gas lines/break lines/floor so i got the 94 and it cant be better, good luck with your cars man :D
If you really like 2nd gens I would look further south for one... Over here in Jersey you can find some virtually rust free to almost no rust cars.... But then you can def. find a rust bucket... my sedan has surface rust on the roof and hood, but the underbody is rust free.... explain that one!

nah, that happened to my cavi man. she took a sheit on me.
sorry tot hear that man, hopefuly things will work out better
my cavalier parts car likes to flood the floor as well, not really sure where the water is coming from, my sunbird did it once, but I found the leak , it was in the firewall, .... I plugged it up and took the carpet out fixed the floor , shes good as new ... kinda LOL
i had the same prob with water being on the floor of the backseat, the wheelwell(sp?) had a whole in it  rusted right through, so i just fixed the hole and no more water
i get a puddle on the floor behind the drivers seat, found out i have a leak in the back window somewhere so it runs in and down the plastic molding right to the foor. what a pain. and if it rains in the right direction the sunroof leaks and water collects by the drivers side sunvisor and it drips all over me as soon as i turn. ive gotten this surprise a couple times now first thing in the morning. luckily things dont rust too bad around here.
