I have an automatic and want to change the trani-fluid. I've never done it before and want to do it right. All I have to do is take all the bolts out except for the corners of the pan. Then break the seal in one corner untill all the fluid is out right?

you need to take the pan right off and clan off the old gasket and put on a new one or else it will leak. And while your in there you might as well just change the filter too. you can buy a kit to do this. Just be sure not to overtightnen the bolts or else it will leak. ( i think its about 12 in/lbs.

good luck.

The fluid needs to be hot when you drain it

When you have the pan off, scrape the gasket, clean it all with solvent and let it air dry. Don't wipe it with a towel, because any lint that may be left behind can clog things up.

The torque for the bolts is is 120 in/lbs, not 12
