Well, you could install a B&M shift, which will firm up the shifts. Or if you have a lot of time and patience you could do the 5 speed swap, like I have been planning on doing, if I could find a donor car...
Instructions are in the how-to section

Ya that B&M shift sounds pretty good, how much is that and where can I find it, is that 5 speed swap a standard tranny? I kinda wanna keep mine automatic, Is there anyway to maybe up the gears to like a 4 or even a 5 speed automatic Tranny?
Again thanks for all the help!

P.S. This is the best site I've ever seen for chevy cavs! ( good job man )

Well, they have a couple different options for the shift kit. The first is the Shift Improver kit, that runs around $30.00. I involves dropping the tranny pan and replacing the valve body, gaskets etc. <LINK_TEXT text="http://www.carparts.com/parts/newsearch ... 0-0">Check">http://www.carparts.com/parts/newsearch2.asp?autoidsearch=YES&sourceid=2&itemid=5366&parttypeid=3109&vehicleid=51960&reflink=0-0-0-0-0">Check</LINK_TEXT></URL> it out here
Another option is the ShiftPlus. It runs about $40.00, and replaces the vacuum control stuff. <LINK_TEXT text="http://www.carparts.com/parts/newsearch ... 0-0">Check">http://www.carparts.com/parts/newsearch2.asp?autoidsearch=YES&sourceid=2&itemid=5329&parttypeid=3109&vehicleid=51960&reflink=0-0-0-0-0">Check</LINK_TEXT></URL> it out here

They claim that the Shift improver kit is the easiest to install.

Yes, the 5 speed mentioned in the swap how-to is a standard. I have not heard of anyone swaping in a 4 speed auto, and I dunno about adding more gears. You would probably need to talk to a tranny shop about that.

Good luck. Glad you like the site!

Its the TH-125C (3T40)

I didnt look at the model numbers, but now I see that the TH-125 isn't listed there. I could have sworn B&M made a kit for our cars, but I guess not.

Well, this is the only one I find on carparts that is for our tranny, its a no-name shift improver.

You could also just try the trick shift tranny fluid
