When im driving the car runs awesome, but when i stop the car sounds like it wants to stall for about 2-5 seconds then after it idles fine again, Any ideas?

I cleaned the idle control motor but that didnt seem to help, not quite sure what it could be.

Edit- This is my 94 cavalier, 2.2l 5-speed

does your speedometer work?? sounds like it could be a VSS problem, if its not that hook it up to a scanner to see what its doing and get the map readings and all that fun stuff

i have the same problem with my 2.0 auto after driving at highway speed for a while, if i put it in neutral the motor will start to bog out and try to stall. i've never been able to figure out what causes it. the car runs fine otherwise.
let me guess it will stop trying to stall once you put a load on the motor again? (let the clutch out a little?)

it only does it for about 5 seconds then idles good again.. but if i try to drive while it drives fine.
